Preschool ~ 2.5 to 5 years old

Our Preschool Program in Fort Collins offers a nurturing, home-like environment where the magic of early childhood education is honored and protected. As a non-profit dedicated to providing Waldorf education, we focus on holistic development for the whole child—head, heart, and hands.

Through unhurried days filled with comforting rhythm, rich imaginative play, and extensive outdoor exploration in nature, children are encouraged to discover the world around them at their own pace. We foster hands-on learning and joyful discovery, building a deep sense of community and belonging.

This program is ideal for families seeking a gentle, play-driven approach to early learning that prioritizes social-emotional development. With our small class size, children thrive and transition smoothly into our Kindergarten and renowned Forest Kindergarten programs. We offer flexible schedule options to support your family’s needs.

 


Bluebells Kindergarten ~ 5 to 7 years old

Bluebells Kindergarten at River Song offers a balanced rhythm of classroom learning, outdoor exploration, and nature-based adventure in the heart of Fort Collins. Rooted in Waldorf education, our gentle, play-based kindergarten nurtures foundational academic, social, and emotional skills through story, song, seasonal rhythm, and purposeful work.

Our weekly rhythm includes three days of imaginative classroom learning, one day exploring the Spring Creek Trail, and one Adventure Day spent in local natural areas—supporting hands-on science, journaling, and a deep connection to the land.

Children may spend one or two years in Bluebells depending on developmental readiness, with many returning as “elders” in their second year. No matter their path, Bluebells grow in confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Classes meet Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–2:00 PM. Aftercare is available until 5:30 PM.

Elderberries Forest Kindergarten ~ 4.5 to 7 years old

Elderberries Forest Kindergarten is our fully outdoor, Waldorf-aligned program in Fort Collins, offering children a developmentally rich, nature-immersed alternative to traditional kindergarten or a gentle bridge year before first grade. Rooted in seasonal rhythms and child-led exploration, Elderberries nurtures resilience, curiosity, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Each day, children learn through storytelling, movement, nature observation, and purposeful work—building foundational skills in early literacy, social-emotional growth, problem-solving, and physical development. From hauling wagons to discovering local plant life, children grow confident, capable, and attuned to the world around them.

Held entirely outdoors in all weather, Elderberries offers a joyful, nature-based learning environment supported by experienced Waldorf teachers who guide self-regulation, creativity, and whole-child development in every season.

Abloom After School ~ 6 to 12 years old

The Abloom program offers enriching, nature-filled afternoons for children in Fort Collins who need space to breathe, play, and truly unwind after the academic school day. We provide a vital bridge from the structure of school back to the child’s natural rhythm, rooted in simplicity, fresh air, and imaginative exploration.

This is a play-driven program focused on holistic development and robust social-emotional development. Children are engaged in purposeful activities, whether they are crafting quietly, enjoying hands-on learning, or embarking on imaginative outdoor exploration and adventuring in local parks. Our commitment to experiential learning ensures every afternoon is dynamic and engaging.

As a non-profit organization dedicated to Waldorf principles and small class size, we ensure every child receives personalized attention. Abloom provides reliable, consistent care, including transportation from Polaris and Mountain Sage (covering early release days). We also happily welcome homeschoolers and flexible drop-offs. Rain or shine, Abloom is the perfect after-school solution, offering the time in nature that children truly crave.


Summer Camps ~ Nature & RADventure 7 to 12 years old

Designed for children who have completed 1st grade, our Waldorf-inspired Nature Camp in Fort Collins offers a screen-free, outdoor summer program rooted in play, creativity, and connection. Campers spend their days exploring nature, crafting, building friendships, and enjoying the freedom to unplug and unwind after a busy school year. With a balance of hands-on activities and relaxed, unstructured outdoor time, Nature Camp nurtures imagination, resilience, and a deep love for the natural world.

Nature Camp ages 7 to 12

Perfect for kids who love nature, crafting, and adventure—without the long hikes. Campers enjoy hands-on projects such as simple woodworking, fiber arts, and nature crafts; connect with local experts; and explore nearby natural areas in small groups. A supportive, creative environment where play and learning flow together.

RADventure Camp ages 10-12

For older campers ready for more challenge and excitement! RADventure blends adventure, outdoor skills, and purposeful service. Campers take on longer hikes, learn practical nature skills, and complete hands-on conservation projects with local partners. Ideal for preteens who want deeper connection to the land, meaningful teamwork, and confidence-building summer adventures.


Blossom Garden ~ 18 months to 3 years old (Parent-Child Classes)

Blossom Garden is a warm and welcoming series of play-based classes for parents (or caregivers) and their young children, typically from toddler through age three. Rooted in Waldorf early childhood principles, this program offers a gentle introduction to our approach through simple songs, shared snacks, seasonal crafts, and meaningful time spent in nature.

Whether you’re a new parent or already on your parenting journey, Blossom Garden provides a nourishing space to connect—with your child, with other families, and with the natural rhythms of the season. Each session is designed to support the growing bond between adult and child while offering a glimpse into the developmental needs of early childhood.

Blossom Garden classes are held over eight-week sessions on Saturday mornings for two hours. Seasonal sessions are typically offered in April and October.
